By law, North Carolina Emergency Management is the lead state agency designated to coordinate information and resources for hazard risk management.

Coastal Flooding
Coastal flooding is typically a result of storm surge, wind-driven waves, and heavy rainfall. These conditions are produced by hurricanes during the summer and fall. They are produced by noreasters and other large coastal storms during the winter and spring.

Create Your Plan
Each Risk Management Plan focuses on a specific hazard and/or vulnerable asset. The specific tools identify hazards and vulnerabilities, analyze consequences and develop risk management strategies for your specific facility. Access to the planning tools is password-protected. These plans will be stored on this portal and can be updated as needed.
